How to check if Zoho is down or experiencing an outage
If Zoho is down or you receive errors, try basic troubleshooting first.
Next, check the Zoho status and service availability site at https://status.zoho.com and take note of the “Component Status” icons under the “Component Summary” section.
While Zoho may not be completely down, certain components or services may be experiencing outages.
For example, if you are able to login to Zoho but receive errors when attempting to access your calendar, you would want to check the “Zoho Calendar” component status.
A green checkmark indicates there are no known system issues or service disruptions.
It is not uncommon for multiple Zoho services to be down at the same time, so scroll through and verify that each service is listed as “operational” with the green checkmark.
Below is a full list of status icons that will inform you whether Zoho is fully operational or experiencing maintenance, degraded performance, a partial outage, or a major outage.
View Zoho outage details for a specific component
When Zoho goes down, management may ask for details of the outage and regular status updates.
In these situations, you can either review outage information for all components via the Zoho incident history, or you can view info for a specific component.
For component-specific details, access the Zoho status and service availability site and click the component name.
On the proceeding page, you will see the Zoho component’s current status, how fast the component is processing transactions, and even the status of the component for different geo locations.
There are also performance metrics and a running 7 days of incident history.
Where is information on past Zoho outages (incident history)?
Details of past Zoho outages can be viewed on the status and service availability site.
Scroll down to the “Incident History” section to find details of recently resolved incidents and scheduled incidents (maintenance) over the last seven days.
You can also check the outage history for a specific Zoho component.

Zoho relationship manager

TAM’s are a good resource to provide Zoho outage and service disruption details.
You can also use email, phone and chat to report a Zoho outage or system issue.
How to perform basic Zoho connection error troubleshooting
If you encounter a connection error while using Zoho, try these basic troubleshooting steps first to see if it resolves the issue.
Check your internet connection
Simply go to a website you have never viewed (e.g. aol.com).
If the page loads, your internet connection is working.
On Windows, you can also:
- Click the Windows Start button
- Select Settings
- Select Network & Internet
- View the “Status” page
On the Status page, you should see a message sating “You’re connected to the internet”.
Hard web browser page reload
Perform a hard web browser reload by pressing the Ctrl and F5 keys on your keyboard at the same time (Ctrl + F5).
This will clear the cache (i.e. temporary memory) and force Zoho to serve a fresh version of the page you are viewing.
Note: For Apple / MAC users, press the Command and R keys (Command + R) instead.
Try another device or ask a friend
Try to access Zoho from another device to see if it has the same issue, or ask a coworker if “Zoho is not working today” for them as well.
This method is a simple but effective way to quickly determine whether it is you or Zoho that is having technical issues.
How to report a Zoho outage or system issue
When Zoho is down, you may need to report the issue to Zoho for awareness so they can start working on resolving the issue.
The first thing you should do when experiencing a Zoho outage is basic troubleshooting followed by checking the Zoho status and service availability site.
If the status site indicates there are no known system issues, below several ways you can report the Zoho outage.
Zoho Support
Check the Zoho help site and locate the “Contact Us” section.
From here, you will see there are options to contact Zoho support via:
- Phone
- Social Media (i.e. Zoho Cares Twitter)
- Forum post (Q&A)
- Submit a ticket
While sometimes it is easiest to pickup the phone or submit a ticket, you may want to check out the Zoho cares twitter account and the forum first to see if there are any helpful updates.
Technical relationship manager
If your support plan includes a Zoho Technical Relationship Manager (TAM), inform your TAM of the outage.
TAM’s will often times already have working knowledge of the incident and may be able to provide more granular details than what is included on the generic Zoho status site.
If the TAM is not aware of the issue, they will know who to engage internally within Zoho to get the issue resolved ASAP.
What happens after Zoho is down and the issue is resolved?
After Zoho goes down and the issue is resolved, you should be be able to access Zoho business as usual (BAU) but may need to login again or refresh your browser.
The Zoho status site will also reflect “All Components are Operations” and you should see the green checkmark icons indicating there are no unresolved issues.
Final thought
Zoho is used by companies across the world to streamline their operational processes and keep their business running smoothly.
When you use Zoho and experience errors or issues, you may have questions such as:
- Is Zoho down, or am I having connection issues?
- Are there planned or unplanned Zoho outages?
- What is the current Zoho status (i.e. service availability)?
- If Zoho is down, how do I check when it will be available and come back online?
- How does Zoho communicate current or historical system outages and performance issues?
- Can I receive Zoho outage status updates via email, text, or social media?
It is critical to understand the issue and when Zoho anticipates their systems and services will come back online.
Fortunately, there is a real-time status site and multiple communication channels in order to stay on top of Zoho outages and service availability issues.
